Welcome to AUSXIP Network Site About Katherine Fugate
Welcome to the new AUSXIP Katherine Fugate News and Multimedia site! It's been a long time in the making. Katherine is one of the most gifted writers I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know.

If you are a Xena fan you would have heard of Katherine as the writer for that Season 6 episode "When Fates Collide"

If you are not a Xena fan, you will most likely know Katherine from the highest ranked show on Lifetime "Army Wives" - she was the creator, producer and writer for the show for Season 1 and part of Season 2.

I have been posting news about Katherine on my main AUSXIP site at ausxip.com since 2000 and it's been on the ideas board for a site dedicated to Katherine. Well it's finally here!

I have archived some of the news about Katherine to the Archived News section and will be adding more once I go through the ausxip archives.

This site is dedicated to Katherine and will follow her career!

New Katherine Blog Post - 27 January 2009
The following is from Katherine's Blog:

I heard a tape once of an African-American preacher from the South preaching fire and brimstone when he said:

If you live in a shack, you’ve gotta be grateful for that shack. If that shack is tilted and run down, be grateful for that too. Be grateful for the broken boards and the leaking roof. Until you are grateful for what you’ve got, the Lord isn’t gonna give you one more thing. When you get grateful, God gives back, but not until you say it and you mean it.

Message from Katherine Fugate:

hey all,

just spoke to my very close friend Alexandra Tydings, who played Aphrodite on Xena. wanted to let you all know the below MySpace URL is NOT ALEX.

nothing wrong with fansites honoring a star/singer, etc., but one should be upfront about it on the MySpace page. alex values her fans greatly and would never want them to be confused in any way.

so if you are a fan of Alex's, wanted to give you the heads up this site is not run by or authorized by the real Alex Tydings from Xena.

Xenaverse Refreshes Campaign

Weekly Drop Off Report....

The drop off elf continued on her merry way yesterday by dropping off some supplies - snacks rather than liquids this time.
Click on the thumbnail for the larger image.

The campaign will continue until the strike is over and let me all thank you once again for the wonderful support you have all given.

BandAid: A Musical Tribute to Benefit the Industry Strike Fund

It was some night from the reports I'm getting from friends who attended - fans, writers and bands got together for a big bash to support the Industry Strike Fund and one Ms Katherine Fugate organised it all!

Kudos to the extremely talented Katherine. Check out the video on YouTube of the WGA President. Patric Verrone at BUSBY'S for "Band Aid" benefit

Steven has some great pictures from the event on his site - Check them out here

Let's all hope this strike ends soon. Lots of rumours floating around so maybe one of them will be right.

Xena Day Strike Support

LB was the ausxip reporter on duty at the Xena Day Strike Support day with video camera at the ready. She interviewed Rob, RJ, Steven, Katherine, Adrienne, Vicki, Tim and TJ - you can get a very good idea of what we put up with during those two hours - rain, hail, shine and alot of love. You will also get to see my mug (and the back of my head) which shouldn't distract you too much from a great video <g> It was a very memorable event; it will become a Xenaverse story to tell for years to come. Many thanks to LB for filming and editing this video and having it beautifully edited with the Xena theme song. How perfect is that? Go and have a look see - I know you will enjoy it as much as I have.

Xenaverse Refreshes Campaign

Another Xenaverse Refreshes Campaign drop was undertaken before I left Los Angeles by the Drop Off Elf. Here's a pic of the goodies that were donated to the strikers.

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the campaign fund - your generosity is mind blowing! The writers (of all shows who are at the Disney gate) wanted me to tell you all how much they appreciated the goodies that the Xena fans have provided. They wanted me to convey their appreciation to all the fans. I was marching with them three weeks ago and they couldn't believe that Xena fans are supporting them because of Katherine, RJ, Liz, Steven and others who have worked on a show that has been dead for 7 years.

Xena Fans March in Support of the Writers - Through Rain, Hail and Shine
Report by MaryD

Before I left for Burbank to join the Xena March, Steven Sears sent me an email about the latest update about the march to alert everyone on the weather conditions. I remember writing back to him saying through rain, hail or shine, we will be there I didnt think it would literally come true that all three would come true! What an amazing day over 200 Xenites walked up and down the footpath outside NBC studios...read my report

How To Get There?

Parking is available around Johnny Carson Park and neighborhoods (make sure you pay attention to parking restrictions, they WILL ticket!) The picket will be at the main entrance to NBC located on Alameda Ave.

Costumes highly encouraged! Wear your Xena T-shirts, hats, bring your swords and your chakrams, your quills and your parchment...and practice your Xena warcry!

Please pass this around to all Xena lists, forums and web sites. We want to show a HUGE surge of support from the fans.

MaryD
Going back on holidays....no, really I am...

Adding Kathy's suggestion "In wearing costumes, Tee shirts, hats, and etc.; it might not be a good idea to bring the swords, even though they are replicas. The police may view such item as a weapon. Just a note to pass on."

Mary is a tad excited over this trip so don't bring the swords...but your Xena War Cry is going to be needed.

For Army Wives, Katherine and Drew Fuller fans the following news is pretty special - it's from Katherine's site

Hey Charmed and Army Wives Fans!

UPDATE! it has been suggested to me that i throw my name into this Pencils2Moguls challenge, so --- instead of my own challenge, i will join BOTH Kim and Drew's challenges and the winner of those challenges will also get a call from me, and anything signed you want!

Drew Fuller (Trevor LeBlanc) has joined the Pencils2Moguls campaign and will also give a lucky winner a personal phone call and an autographed photo.  So when you buy your pencils to support writers, be sure to indicate if it's Drew or Kim's challenge you're responding to!   Spread the word!

WGA Strike Update

The following is from Katherine (and posted on Talking Xena)

hey all and sundry --

yet ANOTHER generous drop came to the disney gate today from the xenaverse. have tell you - it's so humbling and inspiring. the mostly male WGA writers always walk up to me with shock on their faces when i arrive, saying, "they did it AGAIN!" and i smile, realizing, then say, "you don't know the power of the xenaverse."

your gift was especially appreciated today as i'm sure many of you have read, the AMPTP's "groundbreaking" deal was anything but. the lowball offer -($250 flat fee residual after 6 weeks FREE downloading for an 1 hour show and ZERO for feature films) has only served to unite us even more in our fight to receive a fair deal from the major corporations.

if you have any questions about the strike - please visit my website or
www.unitedhollywood.com.

and thank you again for understanding and supporting writers! (and also actors, because SAG will be next and we're hoping that with union solidarity and by bargaining first, we can assure them a fair deal equal to ours.)
